Our Flat Roof Installation Process

The flat roof installation process involves carefully rolling out each individual layer. The first layer is loosely laid to allow the roof structure to breathe and accommodate natural movement within the building.

The additional layers are then professionally bonded using a propane gas torch, which melts the bitumen surfaces together to create one fully sealed, watertight membrane. This process prevents air and moisture from becoming trapped between the layers—eliminating the risk of blisters and bubbling over time.

Flat Roof Overlay Solutions

Where suitable, we can also provide roof overlay solutions for existing flat roofs. Subject to the condition of the current roof covering, we can install the new high performance torch-on felt system directly over the existing surface.

The roof is first cleared of all debris and thoroughly cleaned before applying a specialist bitumen primer. The new three-layer high performance torch-on felt system is then installed over the top, reducing both labour costs and waste disposal expenses associated with a full roof strip.
